In Communities: Many communities along the Trail have groomed cross country ski trails. St-Pierre-Jolys has a lit ice skating trail and St. Malo Provincial Park has many ski trails to choose from. Actif Epica: One very special winter event takes place on the Saturday of the Louis Riel Long Weekend in February. Since 2012, Actif Epica organizers have partnered with us to put on this challenging self-supported ultra-endurance event in potentially extreme trail and weather conditions.  For information specific to the race year, check out www.actifepi.ca Actif Epica has been listed as one of Canadian Cycling Magazine’s 10 Big Rides in Canada, and is a partner with Tuscobia Winter Ultra and Arrowhead Ultra135 in a triple crown event known as “The Order of the Hrimthurs.” Since 2017, Actif Epica has been a qualifier for the Iditarod Trail Invitational, the only Canadian qualifier among eight in the world! Participants have come from all over western Canada, several U.S. states and as far away as Brazil and India!

In 2023, Actif Epica moved its headquarters to the  Sugar Shack in St-Pierre-Jolys. The race now loops to Niverville and Crystal Springs to the north and St. Malo to the south. CLICK HERE FOR  2023 RACE RESULTS
