To the recreation of Manitoba’s section of a famous Red River Trail. These cartways were used from the 1820s to the 1870s. The trade developed by and along the trails connecting Fort Garry with Saint Paul accelerated the settlement of Canada to the west of the Canadian Shield.
Today, the Crow Wing Trail is all about connecting communities, and doing so by offering a mode of transportation that is healthier and gives more time to take in what you see around you.
We hope you enjoy learning about this trail – as you walk or bike it – as much as we have had developing it. We certainly enjoy seeing people using it ! What a great reward for volunteers!
Please let us know if there is something you would like more information on.
